An All-Terrain Wheelchair for Alfredo

November 25, 2024

The Denver Mill Program supported a young man with a passion for outdoor adventures in acquiring an all-terrain wheelchair, enhancing his ability to spend time exploring nature with friends.

Meet Alfredo, an adventurous young man with a passion for exploring the great outdoors. While living with cerebral palsy and primarily using a wheelchair, Alfredo demonstrates incredible determination by using a walker for short distances, embracing every challenge with resilience and strength.

“It’s a testament to his determination and personal empowerment that he walks using a walker, as it is very effortful for him,” shared his grandmother.

With the program’s support, he acquired an all-terrain wheelchair complete with essential features like a handlebar bag, wheelchair mover, and weather protection, making his outdoor explorations easier and even more fun.

Now Alfredo is unstoppable! He’s exploring breathtaking locations in Colorado with friends, experiencing greater comfort, safety, and freedom along the way. This life-enhancing wheelchair is more than just a tool for mobility—it’s a getaway to unforgettable adventures and shared experiences in nature with friends.
